Jose and Rosa have a mother. This is the mother of Jose and Rosa. Her name is (Mrs.) Rita Santos.

There are other animals at the ranch. There is a hen and baby chickens. There is also a bird and a duck.

There is a pig and a goat. There is also a cow and water buffalo.

There is a lot of work at the ranch. Jose can work at the ranch. But Jose prefers to play.

Jose and the pig found each other. “Hello pig!” said Jose. “Can the two of us play?”

“Oink! Oink!” said the pig. “The day is very hot. I will make myself cool in the mud.”

Jose found the cow and talked to it. “Cow, cow, can the two of us play?”

“Moo, moo, moo,” answered the cow. “I cannot play. I will give milk to the male calf.”
