Happy Book Month 2021
Do you know this month is Book Month? Although I really like reading, I did not know this until I saw a post on Bookstagram. In truth, I can’t remember all of the celebrations. There are celebrations for every month, every week, and probably for every day! But when I learn of a new book celebration, I want to join. Although this is the last week in October (yes, I am a very slow person), let’s celebrate Book Month in the Chamorro language.
Why do you like reading books?
For me, I appreciate books because I really enjoy going to different places, especially the magical ones. Before the Harry Potter books (Yes, there is a time before the Harry Potter books!) I enjoyed the legends from other countries. I also read books from C.S. Lewis, E. Nesbit, Edward Eager, and other children’s authors. Do you like the poems by Shel Silverstein? He was my favorite poet when I was a child because all of his writing is very funny. But my favorites were the fantasy books because they taught me how to dream.
Sometimes I miss that time, when I was reading more books. I can’t read a lot now because my life is very busy. But when I can, I read because books are my medicine. If life is difficult, they help me remember who I am and my strength.
Happy Book Month!
